Transport & Energy Group TEG Oy acquires Myrskylän Lämpövoima Oy and expands into district heating
Finnish energy consultancy Transport & Energy Group TEG Oy has acquired all shares in Myrskylän Lämpövoima Oy. Through this acquisition, TEG expands its operations into the district heating. Heat delivery to customers will continue as usual.
TEG has today signed an agreement to acquire Myrskylän Lämpövoima Oy. Myrskylän Lämpövoima is responsible for the production and distribution of district heating in the Myrskylä municipal center area.
The change in ownership will have no impact on customers. They can continue to rely on uninterrupted heat supply under the existing terms and conditions.
Going forward, Myrskylän Lämpövoima and TEG will jointly explore opportunities to develop district heating network-integrated and property-specific heat service solutions with both existing and new customers. Solutions under development may include partial electrification of heat production, waste heat recovery, and thermal energy storage.
”The well-constructed and maintained heating plant and district heating network made an immediate impression during the first visit. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the former owners of Myrskylän Lämpövoima for the efficient and solution-oriented negotiations that made the transaction possible. Open discussions with the municipal leadership also played an important role in bringing the negotiations to a successful conclusion,” says Mika Jokinen, Chairman of the Board of TEG.
”It has been a pleasure to serve the Municipality of Myrskylä and other customers as their heat supplier. However, times are changing, and we are confident in handing over the heating company to its new owners,” state former owners of Myrskylän Lämpövoima Oy, Antti Kosonen and Ari Heinänen.
”Myrskylän Lämpövoima Oy has reliably supplied heat to municipal properties for over a decade. The municipality’s position throughout the negotiations has been to ensure the continuation of the reliable and uninterrupted heat supply in accordance with the existing agreement,” says Esa Ukkola, Municipal Director of Myrskylä.
